Specialty of Royal Delicious
Actually, it has been revealed in this research that Royal Delicious apples have not been able to compete with other varieties in terms of quality. Among these varieties like Red Delicious, Red Chief have also lagged behind. This research has been done on 5 varieties of apples in Himachal and other western Himalayan regions. It has been told in research that fiber, phenolic compounds and other nutrients are found in Royal Delicious more than other varieties. Please tell that this research has been published in an international journal.
research objective
This research has been undertaken to elucidate the nutritive value, phenolic content, antioxidant activity and bioactive phenolic constituents of Red Chief and Red Gold, widely used in Western Himalayas apart from Royal, Red and Golden Delicious . Explain that in this research the quality of the fruit has been assessed, along with the pomace i.e. inner material obtained from different varieties of apple has been evaluated. The research revealed that the total dietary fiber content was 42.63 to 1.26 percent higher in Royal Delicious pomace than other apple varieties with soluble fiber ranging from 8.25 to 0.95 and insoluble fiber ranging from 32.90 to 0.89 percent.

Research results showed that Royal Delicious has a higher antioxidant capacity, as well as a higher phenolic content in the hydroalcoholic extract of Royal Delicious pomace than other varieties. It is being said that this is a big blow for the new varieties of apples which are imported from abroad. Tell that the state government and the horticulturists of the state are getting Red Delicious and other varieties from countries like America, Italy etc.
More than 90 percent of the apple production in the state is of the traditional Royal Delicious variety. For the first time in Himachal Pradesh, it was brought by American Samuel Evans Stokes who settled in the British rule.
