This nursery has been built under MNREGA. In just two and a half years from this nursery, advanced varieties of about 17 types of fruit trees have been prepared. During this, more than 1 lakh 63 thousand fruit plants have been given to more than 18 thousand farmers. Due to this, 400 families have also got employment. The laborers working for this nursery have also been given wages of about 20 lakh rupees. Nursery scientists say that small and middle class farmers are getting a good chance to earn extra income from fruit plants.

    17 types of fruit trees

    According to the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, a fruit garden has also been prepared here. Scientists have prepared at least 17 varieties of fruit trees. About 12 thousand cultivars have been prepared from these trees, which are genetically and physically pure and healthy. This is also increasing the production of fruits. Let us tell you that the nursery has been prepared for Rs 34 lakh through labor donation.

Pomegranate, Guava, Lemon, Custard Apple, Jackfruit, Ber, Munga, Fig, Chiku, Mango, Jamun, Amla, Bael, Orange, Cranberry, Lasoda and Tamarind plants have been planted here. For information, let us tell you that these include 3 varieties of guava, Allahabadi Safeda, Lucknow-49 and Lalit. Apart from this, Konkan Lemon variety of Lemon, Bhagwa variety of Pomegranate, Konkan Orange variety of Orange, Poona Selection variety of Fig, Green-pink variety of Cranberry, P.K.M.-1 variety of Moonga, Indira Nandiraj, Amrapali variety of Mango. and Mallika variety.























    Nursery ready in 15 acres

    5 years ago, 15 acres of land was barren, but under MNREGA, the work of building a nursery was started. After this, the laborers’ hard work paid off and the barren land has become green. After selecting the land here, works like cleaning of unnecessary bushes, filling of pits and leveling were done.

    After a year, in the second phase of this project, pits were excavated by laying out for planting horticulture plants. For this the scientific method was adopted. Under this, pits were dug in such a way that along with the distance between 2 plants, a distance of 5 meters was kept between 2 rows. The criteria of 1 meter length, 1 meter width and 1 meter depth were adopted for plantation. Along with this, all the pits were excavated, so that during the development of the plants, their roots could get enough space for growth inside the ground. In these, dung manure, soil, sand and other suitable fertilizers were mixed and stuffed. Due to this, essential nutrients are available to the plants.
