Suitable land and climate for cultivation: Bitter gourd can be grown on almost any land. But loamy soil is considered good for growing bitter gourd. Bitter gourd cultivation requires cool and humid climate.

Seed quantity and time: 5-7 kg seed per hectare. Sufficient is 2-3 seeds from one place 2.5-5. Mr. Seeds should be sown at a depth of 100 cm. Before sowing, the seeds should be soaked in water for 24 hours, due to which germination is quick and good. Bitter gourd is sown from February 15 to February 30 (summer season) and July 15 to July 30 (rainy season).

(2) by planting saplings
Fertilizer: For good yield in bitter gourd crop, it is very important to have organic manure, compost manure in it. While preparing the field, add 40-50 quintals of cow dung manure while preparing the field. A mixture of 125 kg of ammonium sulphate or farmer’s manure, 150 kg of superphosphate and 50 kg of Muriate of Potash and folidal powder 3 percent 15 kg is mixed at the rate of 500 grams per pit before sowing the seeds. Mix 125 kg of ammonium sulphate or other fertilizers well in the soil near the plants at the time of flowering.
When the crop is 25-30 days old, mix neem decoction with cow urine and prepare the mixture well and spray it at an interval of every 15-20 days. White grubs cause a lot of damage to plants in crops.
It is found inside the ground and eats the roots of the plants, due to which the plants dry up. To prevent this, use neem manure in the fields. Chemical insecticides are poisonous. Use with caution. Use of medicines should be stopped 10 to 15 days before harvesting.
Irrigation: Irrigation is very important for good yield of bitter gourd. Irrigation of crops is also based on rain. Weeding of bitter gourd should be done from time to time. Whenever there is shortage of moisture in the fields, irrigate the fields. Remove the weeds from the field so that more fruits and flowers are planted.
Harvesting: Harvesting should always be done when the crop is soft, it becomes hard when the crop is kept for a long time. And after going to the market, people do not even like to buy from it, usually the fruits are ready for harvesting after 70-90 days of sowing. Harvesting should be done 2 to 3 times in a week.
