Many people like gardening at home, and it’s easy to understand why. Growing your own flowers, herbs, and veggies may be a fulfilling activity that makes you feel accomplished and satisfied. There are many tips and tactics to help you get the most out of your gardening efforts, whether you are an experienced gardener or are just getting started. We’ll provide you some helpful home gardening advice in this post to get you started on your gardening adventure. These suggestions can assist you in quickly growing a wholesome and fruitful garden, from picking the ideal area to harvesting your plants at the ideal moment.
Guava Tree
If guava plants are left alone without cultivation or pruning, they become very large after a few years, which are very difficult to manage. In this way the fruiting area of the plants decreases and the fruits do not grow in the inner part. Two to three months after planting, 60-70 cm from the ground. At the height of the plant is cut so that growth can be generated below the cut place.
Three to four equally spaced shoots are left around the stem to form the main structural branch of the plant. After harvesting (tamping), these shoots are allowed to grow for 4-5 months till they are 40-50 cm. K doesn’t happen.
These selected shoots are cut up to 50 percent of their length, so that buds can be regenerated just below the cut portion. After 4-5 months of allowing the newly created buds to grow up to 40-50 cm in length, they are again cut and pruned. This is mainly done to get the desired shape of the plants.
The pruning work is continued even during the second year of planting. After two years, the smaller branches within the periphery of the canopy form a dense and strong framework. The diameter of the plant prepared by proper cultivation and pruning is two meters and height is 2.5 meters. To keep it limited, cuttings are done every year in January-February and May-June.
Under this, 2 m. (line by line) c m. Planting of 5000 plants per hectare is done at the distance of (plant to plant). In the beginning, the plants are pruned to give them a dwarf shape and better canopy, so that maximum yield of quality fruits can be taken from the first year itself.
A single stem, on which 30-40 cm from the ground. Till no obstructing branches are necessary to form small trees of the desired size. 30-40 cm from the ground of all the plants after 1-2 months of planting. It is cut uniformly at the height of 10 cm so that new buds can emerge from under the cut part.
After harvesting, there should not be any shoot or branch next to the stem. Such a plant should be 40 cm. It is done to make a single stem tree up to the height of. New buds start emerging after 15-20 days of harvesting (topping). Generally, after topping, three or four shoots are left at the cut site.
After harvesting, usually the shoots mature in a period of three to four months, then half of their length (50 percent) is cut so that new shoots can emerge from below the cut area. This work is done to get desired canopy and strong tree structure. After allowing the sprouts to grow for three to four months, they are again pruned up to 50 percent of their length. After pruning, new shoots emerge on which flowers are planted.
It is emphasized that pruning of shoots should be done three times in a year. This is necessary for the expected canopy development, although fruiting starts from the same year itself, but it cannot be expected that every shoot will bear fruit. To maintain the small size of the plant, pruning should be continued.
Shoots are harvested after one year, especially in May-June, September-October and January-February. New shoots are formed after pruning of shoots during January-February. Flowers bloom on these shoots and fruits start to appear in July-September. Pruning of shoots is done for the second time in May-June. After pruning, new buds emerge and flowers come on these buds. It fruits in the month of November to February. These shoots are again pruned for the third time in September-October. This work is mainly done for better canopy development. Fruits are obtained in March-April by pruning done in October. The above technique is suitable for maintaining meadow gardening for optimum yield and dwarf size plants.
Restoration of old gardens
Under the restoration technique, trees that have lost their productivity (showing a clear reduction in annual yield) are cut 1-1.5 m from the ground. In May-June or December-February at the height of 100 cm, they are cut for this purpose so that new buds can be created in them and new canopy can develop from healthy buds. After 4-5 months of harvesting-pruning done for restoration, these new buds are kept at 40 to 50 cm. allowed to grow to length.
Again these new buds are cut to about 50 percent of their total length so that new buds can be created in abundance below the cutting point. This work is mainly done to modify the shape of the plant and to maintain proper canopy shape. Multi-shoots developed after harvesting are capable of developing buds in rainy season crop. Farmers willing to take crop in rainy season can allow these shoots to grow to get fruits because winter fruits are more beneficial and valuable because of their quality and taste and due to non-pest attack, they get good value from fruits, hence winter season. The function should be extended. To avoid fruiting in the rainy season, 50 percent of the buds are pruned again in the month of May-June.
After harvesting and pruning of shoots in May-June, new buds that have emerged have immense potential to bear fruit in autumn. To give proper shape to the canopy of the plant and to obtain quality fruits in winter, pruning should be done every year at regular and fixed intervals.
