When the new varieties were launched

Let us inform that both the varieties were developed by hybridization in the eighties of the last century. Ambika was released in the year 2000 and Arunika in 2005. The result has come that the fruits of this variety are beautiful as well as tasty to eat. Along with this, fruits are full of nutrition. The fruit of Arunika variety is very sweet, as well as rich in many anti-carcinogenic elements like mangiferin and lupeol in addition to vitamin A. The fruit of this variety is very durable. The special thing is that even if this type of fruit gets spoiled from above, there is no effect on its inside taste.

Both these varieties can be successfully grown in different climates of the country. Fruit can be obtained every year from this variety. Due to this the size of the plants is small and the size of Arunika is 40 percent less than the dwarf variety like Amrapali. Arunika variety has got a chance to show its specialty in many types of climate. Then whether it is the air of Uttarakhand, or the gardens of the coastal region of Odisha. Apart from this, Ambika variety is also giving attractive fruits in many states including Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Please tell that Amrapali has played the role of mother for both Ambika and Arunika, because Arunika Kisht has been developed due to the combination of Vanraj with Amrapali, while the hybridization of Amrapali and Janardan Pasand has resulted in Ambika variety. For information, let us tell you that Janardan Pasand is a South n variety and Vanraj is considered a famous variety of Gujarat. Both these varieties have been used as parents. These varieties are beautiful to look at and red in colour, but are not as good in taste as Amrapali. In this way, genes for regular fruiting have come in Ambika and Arunika grains only.
It is being told that Vitamin A is very much present in Arunika variety of mango. Ambika participated in the mango festival in the year 2018 and Arunika in the year 2019.
