    Fruit fly:

This is the most harmful insect of ber. When the fruits are in small and green condition, then only the attack of this insect starts. The adult female fly of this pest lays eggs in the fruits as soon as they are set. These eggs turn into larvae and damage the fruit from inside. Due to which there is an empty space around the kernel of the fruit and after eating the fruit comes out from inside. After this, it remains hidden in the soil as a pupa (when the insect is lying dead) and after a few days it becomes an adult fly and again lays eggs on the fruits. This life cycle goes on like this.

To prevent and control this, turn the soil of the garden in May-June, so that the insects hidden in the soil die due to sunlight. For prevention, wild ber bushes should be removed from the area around the garden. Damaged or affected ber fruits should be collected and destroyed. For chemical control, at flowering stage of the tree, Quinalphos 25 EC (Quinalphos) 1 ml or Dimethoate 30 EC (Dimethoate) 1 ml or 0.5 ml Cypermethrin 25% EC or 1 ml Lambda Cyhalothrin 4.9% CS per liter of water. The solution should be made and sprayed. Second spraying after fruit set, when most of the fruits become the size of peas, at that time spray Quinalphos 25 EC 1 ml or dimethoate 30 EC 1 ml per liter of water and the third spraying, 15-20 days after the second spraying. should do. Always use the medicine alternately.

    Powdery mildew

Outbreak of this disease is visible in October-November. In this disease, as can be recognized from the name itself, white powder gets deposited on the leaves, twigs and flowers of the jujube, due to which the growth stops and the fruits and leaves fall due to the production of less plant food by photosynthesis. For its prevention, soluble sulfur mixed with 400 grams per 200 liters of water should be sprinkled in one acre of field. Two to three spraying should be done after 15 days for complete protection from this disease.

    Leaf spot/ blight disease:

The symptoms of this disease start in the month of November in winter, it is caused by the invasion of a fungus called Alternaria. Small brown spots are formed on the affected leaves and later these spots become dark brown in color and increase in size and spread over the entire leaves. Due to which the leaves start drying up and falling. To control this disease, as soon as the disease appears, apply Mancozeb 75 WP 3 grams or Thiophenate methyl 70 WP (Thiophenate methyl) 2 grams or Chlorothalonil 75 WP (Chlorothalonil) 2 grams per liter of water at an interval of 15 days. Spray 3.

    Root rot:

This disease is more in case of excessive irrigation or standing water. The roots of the plants and the stem near the ground are attacked by this disease, due to which the plants dry up. For prevention, after treating the seeds at the rate of 2 grams Thiram per kg, sow them in the nursery. Drenching should be done near the roots by mixing Metalaxal 8 + Mancozeb 64 WP at 2.5 grams per liter.

    Sooty mould:

The symptoms of this disease start appearing in the month of October. This disease is spread by a type of fungus. Black spots appear on the lower surface of the diseased leaves, which later spread over the entire surface of the leaves and the diseased leaves also fall, due to which the leaves appear like soot.

As soon as the symptoms of the disease appear, spraying with Mancozeb 3 grams or Copper oxychloride 50 WP (Copper oxychloride) 3 grams per liter of water should be done for control and if needed, the spray should be repeated after 15 to 20 days.
