What is Patial Grafting
This new direction for grafting has been shown to the gardeners by the scientists of the n Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Shimla Center. Till now gardeners do grafting of stone fruits with the help of Chuli, Bammi, Paja and Bitter almond trees. In this way, after a long period of at least 4 years, stone fruits such as peaches, apricots, nectarines, almonds and cherries are produced. But by this new technique of scientists, fruits can be obtained only in 2 years after grafting in a new tree.
Know the specialty of Prunus Persica
This tree is originally from Japan, which is still used as an ornamental plant, but now it will serve as grafting for stone fruits. The special thing is that it will be successful in both cold and hot areas. This tree bears fruits of 14 mm, on which flowers are seen blooming in May. Success has been achieved in grafting many types of stone fruits on Prunus persica tree.
Scientists of IARI’s Shimla Center have been doing research on new trees for Patial grafting for the last 4 years. Right now they have got success in preparing fruits by grafting fruits in pots only. Its field trial has been started at IARI’s Dhanda station. It is being told that the gardeners will get this tree in about 2 years.
