1. Makkhajali: This plant is found on the banks of the pond. This plant has 25 rounded leaves. There are about 200 sensor tiny hairs on it. On whose top a shiny substance is secreted. This plant attracts insects. As soon as the insect sits on the leaf mistaking it for honey, the sensory hairs become alert and begin to turn and catch the insect and drag it to the lower part of the leaf. Now a digestive juice comes out from the leaf which dissolves the flesh of the insect. This is then absorbed by the plants.
2. Bladderwater: It is a rootless plant with fine leaves which is found floating in the pond. Some of its leaves become shaped like a floating bladder. Near the mouth of each sac there is a gate which opens only inwards. There are three sensory hairs at the mouth of the bladder. A worm floating in water is pushed inside the bladder as soon as it comes in contact with these hairs. The gate closes and the worm trapped inside the bladder dies. The flesh of this worm is now absorbed by the digestive fluid.
3. Cage of Beauty: This plant is found in America. The upper part of the leaf of this plant is in the shape of two lobes and there are six sensory hairs on the middle part of the angle. While wandering in search of honey, the insect touches these sensor hairs. Both the pawl sensors are tightly closed and the attracted worm is trapped in this cage. The digestive juice released from the glands absorbs this worm. The cage opens automatically when the worm is gone.
4. Nepenthes: In this plant, the upper part of the leaf is pitcher shaped and there is a lid on its mouth. A fluid oozes from the periphery of the jar which attracts insects. As soon as he sits down, the worm slips inside and dies. The bacteria inside the jug decompose it and it is then absorbed by the plants.
